A Great Dane is known for its elegance, strength, great size and dignified look. It is well formed and muscular. It is one of the Giant work breeds, but is unique because of mental and physical combination. It is so well balanced that it never appears clumsy (once its fully grown). It moves with a royal posture and a forceful drive. It is often referred to as being noble or royal - an Apollo.
A Great Dane has a good mentality. It is calm, friendly, reliable and alert. Its physic and mental characteristics gives the Great Dane its majestic appearance that no other breed have. It is absolutely good with children. It doesn't even tip over a baby trying out his first steps even when it is in its most playful mood and is when you get down to it not that space demanding because of its calm nature.
The Great Dane male is just as masculine as the Great Dane bitch seems feminine. This is seen by the shape of the head, the muscles, size and mental differences.
